Crystal head vodka is a vodka brand produced by globefill company in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It was conceived and created by actor Dan Aykroyd and artist John Alexander in 2007.
Vodka is distilled four times, filtered seven times, and finally filtered three times through the Herkimer diamond crystal. The Herkimer diamond crystal is actually a double ended quartz, not a diamond. The Crystal Skull bottle was designed by John Alexander and made by Bruni glass, a glass manufacturer in Milan.
In 2007, Dan Aykroyd and John Alexander first put forward the idea of crystal head vodka. Due to the lack of additive free vodka in the market, Dan Aykroyd decided to make it himself. John Alexander designed the skull alcohol bottle according to their common fascination with the legends of 13 crystal skulls.
This skull alcohol bottle produced by Bruni glass, a glass manufacturer in Milan, took two years. The crystal vodka was launched in Southern California in 2008 and soon in four other states. In 2009, this product was sold in other parts of the United States before it was launched globally.
